And today, after Kay spoke for the first time since cancelling his tour to announce a special screening of Car Share to raise funds for the charity, Ms Curtis has revealed her gratitude to the star. Comedy legend Peter Kay spent the last two years living under the radar at a secluded house in rural Ireland after cancelling his multi-million pound tour, it has been revealed. His last stage appearance was when he spoke to an audience gathered to see a charity screening of his BBC comedy Car Share in April After a two-year hiatus - during which there was false speculation the Phoenix Nights comic had passed away - his social media account announced he will return to the stage in April and May to DJ at six charity events.
It has now emerged that Kay spent the last 24 months living a quieter life in the rural surroundings of a house close to Lough Derg, a freshwater lake in the Shannon River Basin, which has shores in the counties of Clare, Galway and Tipperary. Locals said that the father-of-three tried to maintain a low profile and was rarely seen in pubs or restaurants, but that residents 'saw him coming a mile off' due to his inconspicuous Range Rover.

Eventually, doctors broke the news that the little girl had mitochondrial disease and may only live days. As parents we just had to wait for our baby to die. A heartwrenching moment came when Lily was removed from her ventilator and her family were told to sit by her tiny cot to say their goodbyes.
But against all odds, the little girl started breathing by herself - something Liz describes as a miracle - and was even able to go home to be with her older siblings. Lily spent three happy months at home, and despite still being tiny, she started being able to play with toys and smile. Tragically, the family's frail sense of happiness was shattered on April 30 when Lily died in hospital of heart failure.

Lots of love, enjoy, take care, bye-bye. Kay's appearance came a day after the star appeared on a giant screen at one of the sell-out showings of the last two episodes of his BBC sitcom.
